Notations

Basics

Notations have a very simple syntax. When using most other tools there is an emphasis on when/where spaces can be placed in your Notations. When using non-tools like Google Docs or Sheets, you had to manually create tables, copied and pasted note/lyric syllables from one cell to another and inserted/deleted spaces between them.

With Notations that is not needed. You can put as many spaces as you like, anywhere (almost) and the layout wont be affected (unless you want it to). This is because Notations uses a more dynamic layout where it is aware of durations of notes based on the syntax. As you go through the various sections in this tutorial and the examples these will become clearer and second nature to you.
